Evollve Inc., the makers of Ozobot, is a company built around the idea that blends creative thinking with business disciplines to bring new ideas to market. Their business focuses on introducing new ways to combine social interaction with digital apps. They opened for business in the spring of 2012 with the idea of finding different ways to play, learn and socially interact in an evolving digital world. The idea gained traction when they started researching robots and their evolution through time. They started by developing a line-sensing robot and began building from there. The kids finally put down their xbox and ipad and played with something in the real world for a change…I was concerned the novelty would wear off quick like every toy that comes through the door of the house...but not with Ozobot, and even though they use their iPad to play with it and program it, they still are playing with something physical and not just staring at a screen.
